The Two Wolves

An old man is teaching his grandson about life.
Old man: A fight is going on inside me.
Grandson: Oh. what kind of fight is that?
Old man: It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is a bad wolf. He is anger, jealousy, worry, depression, fear, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, and guilt. The other one is a good wolf. He is happiness, peace of mind, love, hope, courage, self-confidence.
Grandson: why is this fight happening inside you?
Old man: The same fight is going on inside you–and inside every other person, too. In every person's heart, this fight continues as long as he is alive.
Grandson: What happens if the bad wolf wins?
Old man: In your heart, If the bad wolf wins, you will always be sad and depressed. You will fail in everything.
Grandson: What happens if the good wolf wins?
Old man: If the good wolf wins, you will always be happy and satisfied. You will always win. You will always be successful.
Grandson: So which wolf will win in this fight?
Old man: The one you feed. If you feed the bad wolf, he will win. If you feed the good wolf, he will win.
Grandson: I want the good wolf should win. How to feed the good wolf?
Old man: The good wolf wants happiness, peace of mind, love, hope, courage, and self-confidence. So you should feed him these things. If you continuously think of thoughts of happiness, love, hope, courage, and self-confidence, then the good wolf will get power. And you should stop feeding the bad wolf with the thoughts of negative thoughts. Then the bad wolf will lose his power. Then the good wolf will win.
Grandson: Thank you. I will feed the good wolf.
Old man: Very good. But it is not easy to feed the good wolf. It is not easy to stop feeding the bad wolf. You need a continuous practice of feeding the good wolf. Every hour, every day, every week and every month, you should continuously feed the good wolf. Automatically the food supply will be stopped for the bad wolf. So the good wolf will win. Sometimes outside circumstances are against you. You face some horrible challenges. Some people may be against you. Some situations may be against you. Then automatically you may start feeding the bad wolf. Be careful. Don't feed the bad wolf any time. Even some people are against you, even some situations are against you and even the whole world is against you, continuously feed the good wolf. Feed the good wolf more and more. Then the good wolf will always be the winner. After that, you will be happy, satisfied, peaceful and Victorious.
