A friendly heart ^^

Mark was a student. One day he was going to college. Ahead of him, another boy was walking. His hands were full of many articles such as books, two sweaters, a basketball, a glove, and a small tape recorder. The boy tripped and dropped all of his items on the road.
Immediately Mark ran to him, knelt down and picked up all his items one by one and gave them to that boy. They were going the same way. Mark requested him "If you don't mind, I will carry some items."
Both carried the items and started walking. While walking, Mark asked him many questions with a smiling face. The boy said that his name was Bill, he loved video games, basketball, and history and he broke up with his girlfriend.
They arrived at Bill's house. Bill invited Mark into his house. Both drank coke and watched TV. They discussed many things. They laughed a lot. The afternoon went pleasantly. Then Mark went home.
They were studying in the same college. Frequently they met each other. Whenever they met, Mark used to show a lot of interest in talking to Bill. Mark used to ask him several questions like "How are you? How is your life? How is your health? How are your studies? Are you playing basketball daily? What movies did you watch? etc" They had lunch together many times. Bill used to tell all his matters to Mark very interestedly.
Their final exams were completed. It was the last day of college. Bill came to Mark.
Bill: Mark, can we talk a bit?
Mark: why not? Let's talk.
Bill: Three years ago, we met. Do you remember how we met?
Mark: Of course. You were carrying books and many things and dropped them. Then I came to you and picked up your books.
Bill: Do you know why I was carrying so many things that day? I was staying in a hostel. Because of having some problems, I felt I was alone in this world. I felt nobody liked, loved and valued me. I decided to commit suicide. I wanted to die at my home. I did not want to trouble my hostel mates. So I vacated my hostel with all my luggage and coming back to my home. I had some sleeping pills in my pocket. I had a plan to apply. I was going home with my luggage. Then you came into my life. You talked to me very nicely. You asked me many questions. You told me many things. You valued me. You gave me a lot of importance. We spent an afternoon at my home. I felt a lot of relaxation in your presence. Then I understood there would be many pleasant times for me in the future. I understood there were some good people like you in this world. I got hopes in my life. You have a habit. Whenever you meet me, you smile. Your smile says "I like you, you are important to me. I'm very happy to meet you." Your other habit is you give a lot of importance to me. It makes me very happy. I stopped committing suicide only because of you. You see, Mark. When you picked up my books that day, you did a lot more. You saved my life. I can't forget you in my life."

Many people are waiting for our smiles, our care, and our friendly nature. They can change others' lives.
